Web-Based Educational Resources

In today's world, web based resources are the key to learning. The chalk and instruction days are starting to make their way out in today's modern era. And why not, since most of our students are already fluid in computer technology. This gives them the opportunity to use those computer skills and adapt them into learning.

There are so many useful web based resources for educators to take advantage of. One of them that I thought can be helpful was BrainPop for K-3rd grade. What a wonderful program that will keep students' attention as well as their improvement in critical thinking. The games and activities that go along with the movies were great. If I ever get into teaching in the lower grades, this will be a necessity.

  1. I love BrainPop! I am student teaching in a fourth grade class, and I use it all the time. With every science topic that we've covered in class I've been able to show a related BrainPop video. The student's really enjoy them, and seem to get a lot out of it.

  2. Using a site like BrainPop to relate to the lesson is great! It can be sometimes difficult to correlate a lesson to the everyday lives of students, or in a way that they can better understand why they may need to know something.
I agree, Adam. It would be a website I would use if I ever taught the lower grades! :)
